is the world’s largest association of travel professionals. Their 24,000 members include travel agents and the companies whose products they sell such as tours, cruises, hotels, car rentals, etc. They are the leading advocate for travel agents, the travel industry and the travelingpublic. IATAN’s mission is to promote professionalism, administer meaningful and impartial business standards, and to provide cost-effective products, services and educational programs that benefit the travel industry.  Through the use of its informational and other resources, IATAN provides a vital link between the supplier community and the U.S. travel distribution network.

THE AMERICAN RESORT DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (ARDA)

is the Washington, D.C.-based trade association representing the vacation ownership and resort development industries. Established in 1969 as the American Land Development Association, ARDA today has close to 1000 members, ranging from privately held companies to major corporations, in the U.S. and overseas.

ARDA’s diverse membership includes companies with interests in vacation ownership resorts, community development, fractional ownership, camp resorts, land development, lot sales, second homes and resort communities. Members range from small, privately held firms to publicly traded companies and international corporations.

It is the mission of the American Resort Development Association to foster and promote the growth of the industry and to serve its members through education; public relations and communications; legislative advocacy; membership development; and ethics enforcement.

THE COOPERATIVE ASSOCIATION OF RESORT EXCHANGERS (CARE)

is a non-profit industry organization established in 1985 by timeshare resorts interested in helping their owners. C.A.R.E. is a network of resort developers and resort service companies working among themselves to satisfy the vacation needs of individual owners and members.

C.A.R.E. MISSION STATEMENT: To become a major force within the vacation industry by providing growth and educational opportunities for its membership while committed to the highest standards and ethics.

The Cooperative Association of Resort Exchangers, Inc. (C.A.R.E.) and its Members are committed to the highest standards and ethics in the resort  vacation industry for the benefit of owners of individual resort owner(member)ships and of the clients of the C.A.R.E. Members. C.A.R.E. exists to raise the level of professionalism and perceived value of service within the vacation industry and to serve as an international vehicle to enhance the business of C.A.R.E. Members through education, professional standards, industry organization involvement and industry networking. All Members of C.A.R.E., Member Representatives and C.A.R.E. Member Responsible Party(ies) agree to comply with this Code of Standards and Ethics which establishes guidelines for Members to conduct business ethically, with integrity, dignity and honesty.

CRUISE LINES INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION (CLIA)

composed of twenty-three of the major cruise lines serving North America. CLIA was formed in 1975 in response to a need for an association to promote the special benefits of cruising. CLIA exists to educate, train, promote and explain the value, desirability and affordability of the cruise vacation experience.

CLIA became the principal external marketing organization for its member lines in 1984 following the consolidation of several other industry organizations into CLIA. Currently, nearly 17,000 travel agencies are affiliated with CLIA and display the CLIA seal, which identifies them as authorities on selling cruise vacations.

The Official trade organization of the cruise industry, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) also works in partnership with nearly 17,000 affiliated travel agencies throughout North America to ensure the highest caliber of cruise sales expertise and service for cruise vacationers.
